Claire Uhrbom. I’m a Design Technology graduate with a Diploma in Web Development.
I have a background in marketing, but after years of design, layout, copywriting, editing and proofreading publications, I moved on to manage and edit websites. That’s when I found my true calling, and now I run indigogirl, my freelance web design company.

Why do you enjoy web design?

Okay, here’s why: One, because web design covers everything I enjoy. Two, I love meeting people and discussing their needs. Three, I love being creative and responding with designs and website solutions. Four, I’m a natural planner, and five I love making lists (obviously).
The reality is that I have meticulous attention to detail, which might be a bit obsessive-compulsive – but that’s to your advantage because in web development detail is crucial.
Believe it or not, I actually enjoy coding websites too! The whole industry is vibrant, constantly changing, and for me, always riveting.
